A room full of new faces can be fun, frustrating, rewarding, and we could go on and on with so many different adjectives. That is what Coach Sacharczyk has in front of him as we begin the 2021-2022 season. Region medalists Alec Lewis and Gipson Frost both return, but otherwise this group is new.
“Our room is full of new faces this year. Lots of energy. No one in particular to point to as of right now. Expect there to be a surprise two to emerge. Lewis and Frost are returning region medalists, expectations will be higher for them this year.”
— COACH SACHARCZYK
As for the girls program … Coach Rudas has this team clicking and ready to make another jump in 2021-2022. The team finished tied for 15th in 2021. State Champ Monteria Bigsby has graduated, but the Warriors return several that look poised to make a run for the podium themselves. Keep an eye on Neveah Justus, Kiley McNernery, Morgan Sacharczyk, and Carlea Grissom. Add in newcomers Andrey Smith and Sydney Grissom and this is a squad with high expectations.
“Our girls program is on the rise. Coach Rudas produced a state champ in the programs first year. Lots of Lady Warriors took notice. The US women’s team success didn’t hurt his cause either. Riverdale students and faculty watched the Olympics…”
