Briarcrest Christian (TN)

Briarcest Christian is a small private school in the western part of Tennessee. The Saints wrestle in Tennessee Division 2 that is dominated by the likes of Baylor, McCallie, Father Ryan, Christian Brothers, and so on. Briarcrest is not on the same level as any of those programs, but has begun to build a nice foundation and has several wrestlers back with experience and looking to make an impact in 2022.

Josh Abington qualified for the State Tournament a year ago as a freshman and gained some valuable experience from that trip to Chattanooga. Abington returns and should be one of the wrestlers that Coach Degani looks to help lead the way in 2021-2022. Stott Reed returns for his senior season and just missed on a trip to the state tournament a year ago … he will look to change that in 2022. Keep an eye on Preston McCormick and Aidan Hydrick – both return after getting valuable experience as freshmen in 2020-21.
